Solo pro, $6,000 a month in card sales, $120 average ticket, all in person: subscription plus card fees for year one, before New Client Connection fees. From year two, Booksy and GlossGenius cost about the same, and Square's free plan ($1,962 a year) costs less.
An operations system with POS, payroll and a marketplace that charges 20% on new-client bookings. $23.99 for six months, then $30, plus $10 per extra staff calendar and paid add-ons.
Marketing is included, but there's no automatic peak pricing, seats cost $20 each, and the Boost fee can hit $100 per new client.

It depends on your business. For solo pros who want new clients, StyleSeat costs less to start: $19 a month after trial, $0 card fees for 21 days and 1.9% + 30¢ for six months, with marketing tools and a marketplace listing included. For small teams, our first-year model still comes in under Booksy and GlossGenius. Vagaro and GlossGenius suit larger teams that need payroll or POS.
When StyleSeat's marketplace brings you a new client, you pay 30% of their first appointment, capped at $50, and $0 during your trial. Return visits from that client have no new-client fee. Booksy's Boost caps at $100; GlossGenius has no marketplace.
Smart Pricing finds your high-demand slots and raises the price for those times. StyleSeat's fee is 5.5% of the full smart-priced appointment, and $0 during your trial, so you keep the price increase minus that fee. We found no demand pricing on Vagaro, Booksy or GlossGenius.
It's a six-month introductory rate. After that Vagaro is $30 a month, plus $10 for each extra staff calendar. Add-ons like Forms ($10), the Online Shopping Cart for deposits ($10) and text marketing (from $20) cost extra. StyleSeat is $19 a month after a 21-day free trial, with marketing, loyalty tools and a marketplace listing included.
They only charge when they bring you something: a smart-priced booking or a new client's first visit. To turn either off, ask our support team.
