10 Best Acuity Scheduling Alternatives for Professionals in 2026

Most people looking for Acuity Scheduling alternatives aren’t unhappy with the scheduling — they’re unhappy that nobody new is booking. Acuity runs from $16 to $49 a month billed annually and does calendars adequately, but it has no marketplace, so it can’t send you a client who doesn’t already have your link. If a fuller book is the goal, that’s the one feature to shop for.

Short version

  • Acuity is $16–$49/month billed annually ($20–$61 month-to-month), with a 7-day trial and no client discovery.
  • Only four of the ten alternatives below can actually bring you a new client. The other six are calendars with a payment button.
  • StyleSeat is normally $35/month but running a promotion for $19/month and spends millions on ads each that send clients to pros — Top Pros using New Client Connection average $9,800 a year in new-client revenue.
  • If you’re hiring a large staff, skip most of this list. Mangomint at $120/month and Boulevard at $140/month per location specialize in that.

One question decides this whole list

Does the platform bring you clients, or does it just organize the ones you already have? That’s the fork in the road, and it matters more than $10 a month either way. A scheduler saves you time. A marketplace fills your slow Tuesdays. They’re different products at similar prices, and Acuity is firmly the first kind.

Be honest about which problem you have. If your book is full and your admin is a mess, a cheaper scheduler is the right answer and you should stop reading. If you have gaps you can’t explain, or you want advanced marketing tools, no scheduler on earth fixes that.

A cheap scheduler is only cheap if your book is full

Acuity’s Starter plan is $16 a month billed annually — about $192 a year — and that is genuinely a good price for what it does. Add your processor’s rate on top; Acuity connects to Stripe, Square or PayPal and each sets its own fee, with Stripe’s standard published rate at 2.9% + 30¢.

Now price the other side. One empty $120 slot a week is roughly $6,000 a year you didn’t earn. That’s the number a $16 plan doesn’t touch, and it’s why “cheapest” and “best value” are rarely the same platform.

How this works on StyleSeat

StyleSeat is $35 a month, and the marketing tools are in that price — email and text marketing, client reminders, automated booking assistant, rich business analytics, promotions, loyalty program, the AI social post builder, review management. Card-present transactions are 2.5% + 30¢, card-on-file 2.6% + 30¢. There’s a 21-day free trial, and booking, New Client Connection and Smart Pricing fees are all waived during it.

The part Acuity has no version of is New Client Connection. StyleSeat advertises on Google, Meta and Apple — over $5M a year — and when someone who has never heard of you books, StyleSeat takes 30% of that first service, capped at $50, once for that client, ever. Every appointment after it is yours at no new-client fee, and the fee is charged after the service is done.

Say that plainly, because competitors will: on a $100 service that’s $30, while you keep $90 assuming a 20% tip. On a $200 color it’s $50 — the cap — and you keep $190 assuming 20% tip. That is a $50 ceiling on the cost of a new client with nothing spent up front. Top Pros using it make $9,800 a year in new-client revenue and 120+ new clients. Booksy’s Boost charges the same 30% for the same service. GlossGenius and Square charge nothing for new clients because they have no marketplace to send one from.

Two smaller things worth knowing: clients pay a $2.35 booking fee, which is StyleSeat’s, not yours, and which cuts no-shows by over 80%. And Smart Pricing raises your rate on your busiest slots — you pick which services, you can exempt your VIPs, you make more on these time slots and the fee is 5.5% capped at $16.50.

Where StyleSeat isn’t the answer

If you’re hiring a large team, StyleSeat isn’t built for you yet. While we support staff calendars for free today; commission splits, payroll, real inventory with stock levels — that’s Mangomint at $120 a month plus $10 per user, or Boulevard from $140 a month per location. Acuity’s Standard plan at $27 handles up to six calendars and does that job for less.

And if you want a booking site with no marketplace attached, GlossGenius is honestly the better fit. StyleSeat is built for the Professional who wants more features for a base price, and more people in the chair.

Questions pros ask

Is StyleSeat cheaper than Acuity?

StyleSeat is $35 a month, however is running a promotion for $19 a month ; Acuity runs $16 to $49 a month billed annually. StyleSeat’s card-present rate is lower — 2.5% + 30¢ against Acuity’s published 2.9% + 30¢ — but the real difference isn’t the subscription. Acuity organizes the clients you have; StyleSeat also advertises to find you new ones.

Does Acuity Scheduling have a marketplace where clients can find me?

No. Acuity Scheduling has no client marketplace or directory. Clients reach your booking page through a link you share — your Instagram bio, your website, a text. If nobody has your link, nobody books.

What does StyleSeat take from a new client’s first appointment?

StyleSeat’s New Client Connection fee is 30% of the first service, capped at $50, charged once per client and only for clients StyleSeat sent you. It’s based on the service cost and excludes your tip, and it’s charged after the appointment is finished. There is no fee on any of that client’s future appointments.

Can I move my clients over from Acuity?

Export your client list from Acuity before you cancel — names, emails, phone numbers, and appointment history if you can get it. Then start your StyleSeat setup and reach out to support about getting that list in. Do the export first, always, on any platform you leave.

Do I have to accept every new client StyleSeat sends me?

No. You have 24 hours to accept or decline each new-client request — less if the appointment is sooner than that — and New Client Connection is optional on the Premium plan. Declining often does lower how high you appear in marketplace search, so decline the ones that don’t fit and accept the ones that do.

What to do this week

Count your empty slots for seven days. Not your revenue — just the holes. If that number is bigger than $35, your problem isn’t your scheduler and a cheaper one won’t help. Start the 21-day StyleSeat trial with the $19/month promotion, keep Acuity running alongside it, and see how many new names come in before you cancel anything.
