Meevo Alternatives for Solo and Small-Team Pros

Meevo Alternatives for Solo and Small-Team Pros

Last updated September 10, 2026 · By StyleSeat Editorial Team

You booked the demo. Forty-five minutes on a Wednesday between a color and a cut, a rep sharing her screen, walking you through a system that is genuinely impressive.

Then the price arrived, and so did the word “annual.”

And you sat there thinking about your two-chair shop, and your Thursday, and whether any of what you just saw would put a person in it.

If you are weighing Meevo alternatives as a solo pro or a small team, the number that decides it is not $129 a month — it is the year attached to it, and the fact that none of it buys you a client you did not already have. Meevo publishes $129 a month promotional, $179 regular, for up to five users, on an annual contract. It runs no consumer marketplace.

Short version

  • Meevo’s lowest published price is $129 a month promotional, $179 regular, for up to 5 users — and unlimited users is $229 promotional, $299 regular. An annual contract is required.
  • Meevo runs no consumer marketplace. It manages your business listings and connects Google’s Book Now, which reaches people already searching for you. That is a different job from finding you strangers.
  • Meevo publishes no card processing rate, so you cannot compare that line until you are on a call.
  • StyleSeat is $35 a month, currently running a promotion at $19, month to month, and spends millions a year in ads for pros — 74M+ visits a year, 2M+ clients actively searching, 16,000 US cities.

Meevo alternatives: the number that decides it is the year, not the month

At $179 a month on an annual contract, you have committed $2,148 before a single client sits down. At the $129 promotional rate it is $1,548. That is not a criticism — enterprise software is priced that way on purpose, and Meevo delivers for it. It is just a decision you make once and live with for twelve months.

Do the arithmetic in clients instead of dollars, because that is the currency you actually work in. If your average ticket is $65, that client hands you $78.00 — the $65 service plus $13.00, assuming a 20% tip. At $179 a month, two and a third clients every month exist purely to pay for the software. At $35, it is under half a client.

A listing is not a marketplace

This is the distinction the demo will not draw for you, and it is the whole comparison. Meevo manages your business listings and hooks up Google’s Book Now button. That is real and useful — but both catch a person who is already typing your name, or your shop’s name, into a search bar.

A consumer marketplace is a different animal. It puts you in front of someone who typed “silk press near me” and has never heard of you. Mangomint, Phorest, Rosy, Zenoti, Zolmi and DaySmart cannot do that either. Vagaro and Mindbody run marketplaces, and so does StyleSeat, which spends millions a year in ads to fill it.

Marketplaces charge for that, and here the ceiling is the thing to read. Booksy’s Boost is 30% of a new client’s first visit, with a $10 minimum and $100 cap per new client. Fresha’s is 20%, with a cap it shares only after you subscribe. StyleSeat’s is 30% too — but it stops at $50, once per client, and never again. On a $250 balayage that gap is not academic: StyleSeat’s fee is the $50 cap, so you take home $250 even after it, assuming a 20% tip on the service. An uncapped 30% would be $75.

Nobody rebooks because of your software

Worth saying out loud in the middle of a spreadsheet: none of this is why anyone comes back.

They come back because you remembered she was going to Jamaica in March and cut it to survive humidity. Because you talked a client out of the blonde she was not ready to maintain and she still thanks you two years later. Because your lash client falls asleep in your chair, which is the highest compliment in this industry and nobody puts it in a review.

That is the business. The software is the shelf it sits on. What a shelf can honestly do is hold the reminders, keep your personal number out of it, take the deposit, and hand you a Thursday that is full — so the hours you spend are spent on someone who will come back and bring her sister.

Meevo wins the things StyleSeat genuinely does not do

If you are running a real front desk, this is not a close call and you should be honest with yourself about it. Commission splits, payroll, inventory with stock levels and true multi-location management are the shape Meevo is built around, and it is good at them.

StyleSeat does not do any of those four. If they are what your week runs on, Meevo, Phorest, Zenoti, Mangomint and Boulevard specialize in exactly that. What StyleSeat supports today at no extra cost is staff calendars, and small salons and a receptionist can share calendars, in beta. The line is honest and it is worth knowing which side of it you are on before you sign a year.

How this works on StyleSeat

You keep your own booking page and calendar, and the marketplace runs alongside it. A client who found you there arrives as a request; you have 24 hours to accept or decline, less if the appointment is sooner than that, so answer fast. First appointments booked this way check out through StyleSeat Payments, which is what puts the service, the tip and the fee in one place. Here is how New Client Connection works.

Email and text marketing, client reminders, the automated booking assistant, business analytics, promotions, the Loyalty Program, the AI Social Post Builder and review management are all inside the $35 — no contact caps to buy up. You can turn New Client Connection off whenever you want, and the 21-day trial waives booking, New Client Connection and Smart Pricing fees for its whole length. Here is what is included.

Questions pros ask

What are the best Meevo alternatives for a small team?

For a cheaper front-desk system, Mangomint publishes $120 a month per location plus $10 per user, and DaySmart publishes $69 a month for three users. For new clients, you need a consumer marketplace — Vagaro, Mindbody and StyleSeat run one, and Meevo does not. StyleSeat is $35 a month, currently running a promotion at $19, with no per-user charge.

How much does Meevo actually cost?

Meevo publishes $129 a month promotional, $179 regular, for up to 5 users; $229 promotional, $299 regular, for unlimited users; and $329 promotional, $449 regular, above that. An annual contract is required, so the lowest published entry point is $1,548 for the year at the promotional rate. Meevo does not publish a card processing rate.

Will Meevo bring me new clients?

Not the way a marketplace does. Meevo manages your business listings and connects Google’s Book Now, which helps people who are already looking for you find you faster. StyleSeat’s marketplace puts you in front of people who have never heard your name, and Top Pros using New Client Connection average $9,800 a year in new-client revenue and 120+ new clients a year.

Does the new-client fee come out of my tip?

No. It is calculated on the service cost only. On a $45 service the fee is $13.50 and you take home $40.50, assuming a 20% tip, because the $9.00 tip is entirely yours. It is charged after the appointment, once per client, and never again. Here is the full cost breakdown.

A year is a long time to be locked into an answer. If your admin is the thing breaking, Meevo will fix it and fix it well. If what is breaking is a Thursday with three holes in it, no contract length changes that — a stranger has to find you first. No contract, 21 days free, $35 a month after that and $19 while the promotion is on: see for yourself.
