Defined Curls

Use a curl foam or gel to define your curls. This will size down the volume of your natural hair, which can make it easier for you to put on your graduation cap. There are so many different defining techniques including shingling and smoothing, that will provide your curls with definition.

Half-Up, Half-Down

Styling your hair half-up, half-down is perfect for your graduation look. By putting the graduation cap on first, it will allow you to style around your hair to provide the most comfortable fit. You can style your hair in two cornrows and use bobby pins to lay in place.

Braided Ponytail

Get a timeless look by styling your hair in a sleek, low braided ponytail. Blow-dry your hair using your favorite blow-out cream and brush your hair with your go-to styling product. Don’t forget to adorn your ponytail with hair accessories.

Barrel Rolls

Barrel rolls are a well known style for those who wear locs. Get this classic hairstyle by applying leave-in conditioner to lock in moisture. Next, create two to four barrel rolls. This will allow your locs to fit perfectly in your graduation cap.

Cornrows

Who doesn’t love cornrows? Choose from two or more and have them exactly the way you like. Use your favorite edge pomade to style your edges to your preference. You’re ready for not just the ceremony, but the celebration afterwards.

French Braids

Looking to switch up your style? If you’re go-to style are barrel rolls, try French braids. Add two French braids to your locs. Try using a locking spray for hold and to keep your style long-lasting. Take it a step further by finishing with two face framing twists.
